Biosota Organics Raises $2,720 for Cancer Council Australia’s Daffodil Day
Gold Coast team braves cold rock pools as customers rally behind annual fundraiser for cancer research
GOLD COAST, QLD — 1 SEPTEMBER 2026 — Biosota Organics, the Gold Coast-based Australian Manuka honey producer, has raised AU$2,720 for Cancer Council Australia’s Daffodil Day, bringing together its team and customers for a month-long fundraising effort supporting cancer research and people affected by cancer.
Back in the water for Daffodil Day
On Friday 21 August, the Biosota team continued a fundraising tradition first started in 2025, surpassing last year’s fundraising total.
After taking to the chilly Gold Coast ocean for last year’s Daffodil Day challenge, the team swapped the waves for one of the region’s cold rock pools in 2026.
Wearing yellow caps and daffodils in recognition of the iconic Daffodil Day campaign, team members took the plunge together to raise funds and awareness for Cancer Council Australia.
“The Daffodil Day Dip has become something our team genuinely looks forward to each year, but the reason we keep coming back is much more meaningful. Cancer touches so many of our customers, their families and people in our own community, and we know that a cancer diagnosis can change a person’s health journey in an instant. We wanted to do something together to show our support, raise awareness and contribute to the research and care that can help make that journey a little easier.”— Andrey Zubko, Founder & CEO, Biosota Organics
Customers join the fundraising effort
Biosota also invited its customers to get involved throughout August with its Give Back This August campaign.
For every order over AU$100 placed during the month of August, Biosota donated AU$10 to Daffodil Day, giving customers a simple way to contribute to cancer research through their regular purchases.
Together, the team’s fundraising efforts and customer contributions have raised a combined AU$2,720 for Cancer Council Australia, surpassing the company’s AU$2,200 fundraising total from 2025.
Cancer Council Australia thanked Biosota for its support, highlighting the impact of donations like this on life-saving cancer research. In its message to Biosota following the fundraiser, Cancer Council noted that five-year cancer survival rates have now risen to 72%, while emphasising that with close to one million Australians diagnosed with cancer over the past decade, there is still much more to be done.
“This Daffodil Day, every dollar donated celebrates the lives already saved by cancer research and the hope it brings for powerful new treatments to come,” Cancer Council Australia said in its message to Biosota. “Your generosity helps fund the breakthroughs that will change what cancer means for future generations.”
“Our customers trust us to care deeply about their health and wellbeing, and we don’t take that responsibility lightly. We know that when people are navigating cancer, or supporting someone they love through treatment and recovery, caring for their overall wellbeing becomes incredibly important. We’re encouraged by emerging research into the bioactive properties of high-MGO Manuka honey, but we believe it’s equally important to be clear about what the science does and doesn’t yet tell us. Supporting Cancer Council is one way we can help contribute to the research, care and support that people and families need throughout their cancer journey.”— Andrey Zubko, Founder & CEO, Biosota Organics
