Most people, familiar with Manuka honey, think it comes only from New Zealand. This is completely inaccurate.
This impression is due mainly to the very strong marketing effort by the honey experts in New Zealand. They have done a great job in educating consumers about Manuka honey and its health benefits and we respect their effort and we send them our thanks. The plant that the bees use to make Manuka honey grows in Australia as well as New Zealand and on this page, we will present information that will confirm this assertion. The Australian Government has made a number of studies. Here is some of the text of one important study.
Leptospermum scoparium (Manuka or Tea tree or just Leptospermum) is a shrub or small tree native to New Zealand and southeast Australia. It is found throughout New Zealand but is particularly common on the drier east coasts of the North Island and the South Island, and in Australia in Tasmania, Victoria, and New South Wales. Manuka (from Maori ‘manuka’) is the name used in New Zealand, and ‘tea tree’ is a common name in Australia and to a lesser extent also in New Zealand. This name arose because Captain Cook used the leaves to make a ‘tea’ drink. The common name “Tea Tree” is also shared with the related Melaleuca tree of Australia suggesting that both were used to make tea by Captain Cook.
Manuka honey, produced when honeybees gather the nectar from its flowers, is distinctively flavored, darker and richer in taste than clover honey and has antibacterial and antifungal properties. The finest quality Manuka honey with the most potent antimicrobial properties is produced from hives placed in wild, uncultivated areas with abundant growth of Manuka bushes.
I have been a consumer of Manuka honey for years and actually this Biosota honey is one of the best ever tasted. compliments!!! Pierluigi
I purchased similar honey before and thought this would be the best one, but then I purchased this one and realized that this truly is the best honey available for my needs. I recommend this honey to anyone who is looking for high quality taste and A+ service and shipping. Unique taste as compared to other honeys, definitely worth a try!

We have not used our newly purchased Australian Manuka Honey MGO 1717+NPA/ULF 31 + 500g from Biosota. com.au- yet as it is very precious but as soon as we do, I will write my review. However we are currently using the 1200MGO one from Biosota and we absolutely love the taste of it- it taste like no other honey we ever had. We use this honey as a preventive product, taking 2 spoons daily without food or drink and in between meals and using a wooden spoon with an attitude of Love and appreciation. We have always used High quality Manuka Honey for prevention but since we found Biosota, the exquisite taste of this honey has won our hearts- It is like liquid Gold to us, taste is like no other- It is beyond honey- Other Manuka Honey from other companies we have used with high MGO/ULF just taste like honey, nothing else- But Biosota Australian Manuka Honey is something very different, maybe it is because it is monofloral or maybe it is because one can tell that the people behind this honey love what they are doing and have a special relations to their bees and honey- I do not know but there is definitively something- If this is how we feel toward the Biosota MGO 1200+ I can only imagine what the MGO 1717+ going to taste like- but like I said- it is very precious to us and we treat this honey with great respect and Love- When we take a mouthful, we think of the bees that work so hard to make such delicate products, we think of the people who are behind this product- only beautiful things are emanating from this product- Highly recommend it- It is a pure gift from Mother Nature and we can definitively detect the love that has been put into the making of the product- and that is hard to find- Also to end this review, since we are using the Biosota High quality honey, no cold, no fever, nothing at all- Christiane
